Jenny Smith studied drawing and painting in Dundee and completed an MA in Multi Disciplinary Print at UWE, Bristol in 2007. She has now returned to Scotland, working in her WASPS studio at Patriothall, Edinburgh. Whilst on the MA Jenny's main area of research was into the use of laser technology, she has researched how the digital process of laser cutting can be used in drawing and fine art printmaking as part of an interest in the combination of traditional hand-rendered processes and new media. Jenny hand draws with pencil or paint and incorporates the laser cutter in her finished article. Jenny has exhibited widely both in the UK and internationally, her work is held in numerous collections and in 2008 two of her artists books were bought for the Tate Collection
